Chartered Accountancy Course - How to pass in One Shot /First attempt
Although difficult to clear CA exams in one shot but not impossible. To the best of my experience, required few major factors along with a lot of other factors.
Major Factors:-
1. Positive mindset - Vehicles need fuel and the mind needs positive thoughts. Always believe in yourself, always think you can do it, always think it's my time now. Don't ever compare yourself with anybody. Don't put yourself in the hypothetical situations of 'if and but'.
2. Ignore pass % - Appearing in an exam does not mean that someone is ready for the exam but those students, when fails, get counted when the institute publishes passing %.
Your competition is with those who are ready for the exam and not with those who are appearing in exams just like spectators in a cricket stadium who can wish for 4 or 6 but can' hit.
If you are ready, the degree is waiting for you.
3. Proper guidance (SWOT) analysis of Student - 'Taaray Jameen Par' is not only for kids but for adults also. Do your SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threats) analysis. It's a very important factor, think a lot about it.
In cricket, the bouncer is a dreadful experience for most of the batsman but few can hit six on it and think it may be you. The things which are difficult for others may be easy for you or vice-versa. Play in your zone, hit very hard for butter ones (easy chapters) because few balls (few chapters) can be a bouncer for you so it may score a little/nil.
In maximum cases, you are the best one to analyze yourself for SWOT but in case you are unable to do it on your own then go to your teacher/mentor who can help you.
4. Proper Planning - Planning very crucial, spend optimum time on that. Prepare 2-3 big charts months wise, week wise, and day wise. Further, bifurcate it subject and chapter wise. Think which are easiest to pick where you can score full (don't be overconfident ever), where you can score half and which are difficult ones where you can covert 1 mark in 1.5 or 2. Follow your plan rigrously and try not to miss it in any situation.
5. Hardwork with rectifying old errors - No substitute for hardware but with rectifying old errors if any. Don't play the same shot again where you got out. Learn from your mistakes, new mistakes are enough to take us down if we don't follow the above four steps.
Other Factors :-
1. Revision timely - We are not 'GAJNI ' but still need revision because our mind needs it. Revision may be for 1 minute to 1 hour but required at least every alternative day.
2. Be out of the virtual world - Try to avoid marriages, birthdays, other celebrations. If somebody needs refreshment, refresh yourself where thoughts don't occupy your mind after refreshment/enjoyment. Don't preplan any refreshment as it is a wastage of time because then your concentration will not be on the study, do it on an ad-hoc basis. Example:- One can watch movies but not series.
Remember, the mind has limitations virtual things/virtual planning occupy the mind.
3. Presentation skills - Your way of presentation is important. Content works but with effective presentation. Eyes focus on presentation works before examiner read it fully, headlines in the newspaper if attractive then only we read the article.
4. Practical learning - Practical learning especially in theoretical subjects like audit is very crucial. Vouching and verification can look the same but altogether different. For example, there cannot be the same answer for different assets and liabilities. Learn it from a teacher or who has done it practically. Examiner can see the impact easily and you can see the impact on your marks.
The above steps I make out on the basis of my experience only while interacted with CA students. It may differ in actual situations.
Great blog sir, completely agree with all your points.
